As we move to autumn, I heard the cry "pumpkin spice season." When I launched this line in August 2019, I would not have thought to answer that call. Putting my own spin on a familiar scent was never the plan, yet, in May a friend was in need and requested a lavender candle. There are many existing who do them well at every price point.
It was her birthday though and things were very intense. I ordered a few different lavenders and found one that transported me to the English lavender fields in Banstead. The result is No. 20 Serenity Now which is a blend of lavender that encompasses the surroundings of the lavender field with woods, florals and the whimsy of sandalwood.
The lavender experience has allowed me as a creative blender to answer the pumpkin call with Whiskey & Woof treatment. No. 31 Tipsy Pumpkin is pumpkin spice grown-up with a blend of whiskey, pumpkin, spices and rum. Given the passion for pumpkin spice, it was no surprize a few clients found the candle before I had put it on the homepage. This text left me speechless:
As a creator, whenever I work with a popular scent, to make it my own, the anticipation of how it's received is like waiting for a birthday cake to come out on your birthday. Will it be what I expected? Better? And thus, the reception has surprised me and left me speechless.
The introductory offer of the 9 oz version at $55 will end on September 15th and then the price will go to the regular $65.
A little note of housekeeping regarding custom scents, they are not refundable. It is a replacement situation only for candles that arrive broken or melted (with visual proof.) It's a standard policy enforced by many selling platforms as well such as Etsy and PayPal as due to the nature of custom orders, the seller (W&W) cannot resell when items are custom. For the time being, the scents and name of the custom scent are the only adjustable elements. Changing candle holders adds more testing time, which includes testing fragrance and wick performance. Candles are reactive to every change, thus why candlemakers are also part chemists and use a lot of math to create special blends.
