As leaves are falling on the East Coast, autumn is in the air. The daylight hours shorten, which means plants and trees begin to prepare for winter. This means shedding excessive layers. There's a reason behind seasonal depression and mood shifts as the weather cools the leaves of plants, which are being shed emit different gases known as stoma.
The gases emitted can smell like pine, chlorine or even like a drying machine's exhaust vent. The smells of dying leaves contribute to a need for heavier, comforting scents. Filling our lungs with a fresh air has been a challenge. Humans crave that fresh oxygen. With winter approaching now is the time to stock up on those essential scents that keep our minds focused, our bodies comforted and our work from home space renewed with the new seasons.
*Tip: to keep your candles "clean" burning trim the wick to 1/4" of an inch prior to each burn.
If this were a high school class, I would give this badge to No. 4 Confidante. Inspired by intimate conversations by the fireside, this combination of maple bourbon, musk, cedar and Tonka brings together an aromatic blend of comfort that is sexy and like your favorite jumper around your shoulders. It's a scent you lean closer to and a client recently told me after having a deviated nose surgery, she was so relieved to have her sense of smell returned to her when she could smell Confidante. She reaches for it even unlit, to inhale the scent and ease her anxiety.
NOTES:

Middle: Bourbon, Butter, Orange & Neroli
Bottom notes: Cedar & Tonka
Relax, light No. 4 Confidante then curl up with your favorite furry companion and a book and feel tension ease and comfort surround you.
Edison lights in the woods, the soft sound of music drifting through your home, as dusk takes hold, you light your evening scent, No. 17 Luxuriate. It inspires you to create, unlocking a sensuality as you feel the urge to dance, a secret smile upon your lips as you inhale deeply.
You've earned these moments, to put the world aside and enjoy whether solo or with a partner. The scent of cashmere and musk frees your senses. The clinking of ice in a glass, topped up with a splash of mulled cider. Mmm, the mix is delectable. Embrace the luxury of joy.

MOST PLAYFUL: NO. 13 GERRARD
Fall days were meant for picnics in the park with your best furry friend. Strap on those Hunter boots, get ready to squish as you walk by the trees to find the perfect spot to spread a blanket out as your "home" base, and play a game of fetch, followed by food.
No. 13 Gerrard is inspired by those beautiful moments in life where you are carefree, living in the moment and happy to do it. A layered scent that begins a tickling the nose with fruit moving into florals and deeper musks, as you would moving through a woody fall walk.
Notes:
Top: Mandarin, Sage, Ozone
Middle: Jasmine, Tonka, Cedar
Bottom: Oak, Amber, Vetiver, Dark Musk
MOST LIVELY OR MOST COMFORTING? NO. 12 BON VIVANT
What was meant to be a seasonal one, continued to be requested at markets and be in demand year round. While I would call this one a pick me up, my favorite quote about No. 12 Bon Vivant is "I cannot not have this candle, it comforts me." Life of the zoom party you shall be with this uplifting whiskey by the fire scent.
This delightful scent harkens to parties, with a party buzz of delightful banter, a mood of cheer in the air, somewhere close is a tree, whether inside or out, and on the other side, a fire gentle glows in the background, adding to red cheeks full of good will.
Notes:
Top: Bergamot, Lemon Peel, Apple, Cinnamon
Middle: Bourbon, Butter, Cypress
Base: Spruce, Maple, Vetiver, Dark Musk, Cedar
Tip: Try cross blending two candles on opposite sides of a room to create your own magical mix.
MOST REGAL: NO. 6 DUCHESS
No. 6 Duchess is at first understated and as she burns, announces the blend of wine and Smokey Oud to a most delightful result.
Inspired by roaming through Kensington Palace Gardens, this scent is subtle. It reminds me of life in London and intimate dinner parties, just this side of naughty. Pairs excellently with No. 8 Hedonist, our whiskey & leather combination.
Top Notes: Merlot
Middle: Oud
Base: Dark Musk
*Tip: The first time you burn a candle you want it to create a full melt pool of about an inch, if you blow it out sooner, the wax has a memory and will tunnel, not burning further than the original burn.
MOST ALPHA: No. 8 HEDONIST
You'll feel your inner alpha breaking out of the box with No. 8 Hedonist. Whiskey and leather is a dream combination for those who feel the wind still in their hair after a motorcycle ride, long after you are inside. You do things at your own pace and you like it that way. Unleash your alpha, dance in the street, feel the energy surge.
Top Notes: Whiskey & Mandarin
Middle Notes: Whiskey & Incense
Base Notes: Leather, Dark Musk & Smoke

Save the drama for the candle. It took six months to perfect all the scent notes for our signature whiskey scent- No. 22 Sophisticate. A careful blend by a whiskey lover who had to get the bourbon right. There are so many moments that lead up to this scent. It's the candle at live events clients pick up and say "wow." It's the one they sniff, say they'll come back for and do.
Don't be afraid to make eye contact, don't be afraid because you know this is the one. Inhale. Then inhale again. Reach for the matches. Let it fill the room with a musky bourbon that converts your space to "wow."
