Candle Care:
1. First burn should last as long as it creates to create a liquid pool from side-to-side to optimize the candle. If you snuff it before that, the wax will never burn wider than the original burn's circumference.
2. Subsequent burns should last no more than 3-4 hours. That is when the human body goes nose blind, helps keep the burn clean and prevents overheating.
3. Leave 1/4" of an inch of wax at the bottom to prevent from shattering. This happens when glass can overheat. By the time you get to the bottom of the candle, the inside heat over time has made it more fragile. I have tested this with other candlemakers as well, most spectacularly with Diptyque. It is the very nature of glass.
4. Allow to cool between burns and trim the wick to 1/8" of an inch. Don't have a wick trimmer? Take a tissue and gently remove the burnt end - not all of it but the majority to keep the burn clean.
5. You can recycle the jar after cleaning it out via boiling water, let it sit in the jar, the residual wax and fragrance will rise out of it.
